Jan Conn has written five books of poetry, most recently Beauties on Mad River: Selected and New Poems, published by V�hicule Press. Amazonia, the suite of poems presented here as an online chapbook, won the second prize in the 2003 CBC Literary Awards.

In 2006, Brick Books will publish Jan Conn�s sixth book, Jaguar Rain, a collection of poetry inspired by the journals, paintings, and sketches of the Amazonian explorations of botanical illustrator and naturalist Margaret Mee (1909-1988).

Born in Asbestos, Quebec, Conn received her Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Toronto.
