Linda Leith
Linda Leith is President of Blue Metropolis Foundation and Artistic Director of the Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival. Educated in Belfast, London, Basel, and Montreal, she was granted a Ph.D. from the University of London (1976) and was a member of the faculty of John Abbott College in Ste-Anne de Bellevue, Quebec for twenty years. She currently teaches part-time at Concordia University.
The author of two novels, Birds of Passage (1993), and The Tragedy Queen (1995). She wrote the essai littéraire Introducing Hugh MacLennan's Two Solitudes (1990) and was editor of the anthology Telling Differences: New English Fiction in Quebec (1989). Her translation of Louis Gauthier's Voyage en Irlande avec un parapluie -- Travels with an Umbrella, an Irish Journey -- was shortlisted for the Glassco Prize (2000) and the QWF Translation Prize (2001).
