One of the literary hats Stephen Scobie wears is that of the traditional teller of tales. In this series of poems he grapples with the effects of wide travel, poetic forbears [Rilke in particular], and his Scottish ancestry. Dunino is a tale told with all the powers of a seasoned poet.
