John McAuley was born in Montreal and received two degrees from Sir George Williams University. He ran the Véhicule poetry series with Bob Galvin and Stephen Morrissey in 1976-77 and was one of the original Véhicule Poets. He was also Coordinator of Vehicule Art Inc. in 1977-78. He has published several collections of poetry, including What Henry Hudson Found (Véhicule) and Nothing Ever Happens in Pointe-Claire (Véhicule), and his work has appeared in anthologies since 1975. John McAuley currently teaches in the English Department at Concordia University.
