Elyse Gasco
Montrealer Elyse Gasco's first book, Can You Wave Bye, Bye, Baby? (M&S, 1999) established Gasco as a writer to be watched. Her short story collection examining pregnancy, motherhood, and adoption won the 1999 QSPELL Best First Book Award and was short-listed for the 1999 Governor General's Award for Fiction. The title story won the Journey Prize. Gasco studied Creative Writing at Concordia University and NYU.
